Nile GomezWelcome to My Blog

Have you ever found yourself at a crossroads in life? Found yourself confused, scared, and wondering how you got there? Yeah, me too.

Maybe your life didn't work out quite as you planned it. Or perhaps, like me, you'd been too busy surviving to plan much of anything at all. So you drifted through life with no clear direction in mind.

Maybe you caught fleeting glimpses of the brass ring. The brass ring is different for everyone. How do you define success? That's your brass ring. You set a goal, mapped out a course of action, took a shot and grabbed for the ring only to get smacked down hard by life. Life is like that sometimes. It happened to me. How do you recover from something like that?

About Me

I was made in Cuba and born and raised in New Jersey in a single-parent home by my mother. I now live in Virginia with my wife and dog. Everyone should have a dog. They just make life better.

I studied psychology and Biblical interpretation in school and have worked in the mental health, technology, and higher education fields for the last twenty years. All I've learned is how little I really know about anything.

Starting around three years ago, I experienced a series of unfortunate events that wrecked me inside and out. This blog is about my journey up from the pit of despair. That was a Princess Bride reference, by the way. Probably my favorite movie, and yes, I've watched it more than once.

I'm feeling better these days. I'm currently passionate about becoming the best me I can be. I'll be sharing everything I'm learning about personal development, health and fitness, and creativity here. And a few other things, too.

Can I encourage you to subscribe to this blog and receive notification of new posts by email? I promise I'll post content that will educate and entertain you a few times each week!
